The Book of Exodus:

Over the course of two semester, we will study both for its own sake,
as well as in-depth, developing skills using commentaries such as
Rashi, Siftei Chachamim, Mizrachi Gur Aryeh, Ramban and Midrash Rabbah
that Rashi selects for his commentary. We will focus on the main message
of Rashi and develop a methodology of studying the pshat in Torah
SheBichtav.

The Book of Samuel:
BIB
A study of the book of Samuel, using commentaries such as Rashi, Metzudat
David, Radak and Malbim. In the course of studying them, we will examine
the complex questions of leadership and kingship, as well as the moral,
philisophical and halachic issues according to Chazal. While emphasis
will be placed on developing a vocabulary based on Metzudat Tzion
and its proofs from Tanach using Sefer HaAruch.

The Five Megillot:

The Five Megillot will be studied through careful textual analysis,
as well as through literary and historical insights using commentaries
including: Rashi, Metzudat David, Metzudat Tzion, Eben Ezra, Sforno
and Medrash Rabbah. Emphasizing the relationships between Man to Man,
Man to Hashem and Am Yisroel to Hashem. Each Megillah will be connected
to the appropriate Holiday throughout the year.

The Book of Mishlei
(Proverbs): BIB
Sefer Mishlei will be studied through literary analysis, historical
backgrounds and themes. Understanding the wisdom of Shlomo HaMelech
through his parables and intended messages, learning how one should
live a Torah life. Using classical commentaries such as Rashi, the
Vilna Gaon and Chazal.

The Book of Psalms: BIB
An in-depth study of Sefer Tehillim using the classical commentaries
such as Rashi, Metzudat David, Eben Ezra and illuminating the Midrash
Shocher Tov and Yalkut Shimoni. Our goal is to develop an understanding
of the pshat, as well as to relate the sefer to our everyday lives.
There will be a focus on developing a deeper Emunah in Hashem by analyzing
each chapter as a prayer to Hashem and learning the hidden messages
of David HaMelech.

The weekly portion will be studied with standard commentaries, focusing
on the Mussar and Halachic message from each parsha. Our goal is to

Hashkafa and Halachah lessons. Focusing on personal development and
growth towards reaching our potential as Bnot Yisrael.

Sefer HaChinuch:

This course is divided into two parts. The first part is independent
study, preparing each mitzvah using the commentaries. Rashi, siftei
Chachamim and others; getting a general picture of the mitzvah. The
second part is an in-depth study, during class time, of Sefer HaChinuch,
Sefer HaMitzvot of the Rambam, the Smag and Taamei HaMitzvot. Our
goal is to learn how a mitzvah is derived from the Torah and to understand
the Taamei HaMitzvah of Sefer HaChinuch. We will show how the mitzvot
are relevant to our time.

Hilchot Shabbat:

An analysis of the laws of Shabbat, learning all 39 Avot Malachot
and Toldot, using the Sefer Zichru Torat Moshe. The class will discuss
both positive commandments such as kiddush, havdalah and hadlikot
nerot, as well as the prohibitions such as cooking, selecting, etc.
The goal is to impart a clear understanding of the halachot and apply
them to modern day practical issues.

The class is given in two semesters covering the Laws of Kashrut,
Brachot, Kibbud Av va Eim. Kashrut; focusing on practical issues within
the kitchen, meat and milk, etc. Brachot; focusing on Birkat HaNehenin,
HaMitzvot and Hodaa. Kibbud Av va Em includes honoring parents and
talmidei chachamim. Our goal is to have clarification of the laws
and to apply them to modern day practical issues.

The laws of interpersonal relationships, such as slander, revenge,
benefit of the doubt. Focusing on the laws in the book, "Guard
Your Tongue" by the Chofetz Chaim, using sources from Chazal
and classical commentaries. Our goal is to develop a method to use
the Halachos in daily relationships.

Using the Book of Ahavat Chesed by the Chofetz Chaim and his proofs
from Chazal. We will focus on developing an understanding of how a
Bat Yisrael should conduct herself; how she should practice the laws
of welcoming guests, borrowing, charity, loving your neighbor, etc.
Mesillat Yesharim:

The classic work of Mussar, Mesillat Yesharim, will be studied based
on the braitah of Rabbi Pinchas Ben Yair and his eleven steps, the
moral values of vigilance, diligence, cleanliness, self-denial, purification,
piety, humility, fear of sin and holiness. We will learn the Ramchal's
Chiddush, his proofs from the Tanach and Chazal. Focus will be placed
on personal development and inner growth, applying practical and real
life situations.

Relevant issues in Mussar and Hashkafah will be discussed, enhancing
our students' perspective on life and developing their inner strengths.

have a chance to ask any questions they have and to discuss these
issues thoroughly.
